Bruce Lee’s final school was located on 628 College Street in Los Angeles. The students were mostly made up of former Ed Parker students who followed Dan Inosanto (Lee’s assistant instructor) to the new school. During this era, Bruce Lee was at the school most of the first year but later handed over the teaching reigns to Dan Inosanto full time (Danny basically drilled the students in what Lee instructed him to teach).

Steve Golden first met Bruce Lee through his friend and instructor, Ed Parker. He received permission from Dan Inosanto to teach in his backyard and later founded Twin Dragons Gung Fu. He conducts seminars worldwide.

Bob Bremer was a black belt under Ed Parker before training with Bruce Lee. He was a backyard student who often trained privately with Lee at his home. His attendence record was near perfect at the Chinatown kwoon. He later went on to join the WNG founded by Tim Tacket

Bill Bremer is the son of Bob Bremer. He spent two years at the Chinatown kwoon. He is currently retired and living in the Philippines.

Richard Bustillo was a student of Bruce Lee who later joined forces with Dan Inosanto to launch, "The Kali Academy" in Torrence, CA. He currently owns and operates, The IMB Academy.

Bob Wall first met Lee in 1964. He later starred in two of his movies: Way of the Dragon and Enter the Dragon.

Joe Lewis was a private student of Bruce Lee who proved JKD could work not only in the streets but also in tournament karate and full contact kick boxing. He currently conducts seminars world wide.

Ted Wong was one of Lee's close friends who is considered his last private student. He continues to teach and perpetuate JKD in it's final evolution. This book contains not one, but two interviews with Ted. The most recent interview is the UNEDITED version from Black Belt magazine.
Well known students from this era are: Dan Inosanto, Ted Wong, Richard Bustillo, Jerry Poteet, Bob Bremer, Dan Lee, Pete Jacobs and Steve Golden.
The doors officially opened in February of 1967 and the school was disbanded in 1969. Dan Inosanto was instructed to take a few dedicated students to his back yard to train. These students later became the base for his “Kali Academy”.
